Our Process: How We Make Every Prosthetic
At K&J Prosthetics, we 3D print and assemble high-quality prosthetic devices using open-source designs. Each part is printed with strong materials like polycarbonate for structure and TPU for flexibility, using precise settings to ensure durability and comfort. After printing, we carefully clean, assemble, and adjust the prosthetic, adding foam padding and Velcro straps for a secure fit. We hand-check every piece to make sure it works properly and safely. Once complete, we donate the prosthetics free of charge to individuals and communities in need.
Flex-Leg
This fully adjustable 3D-printed prosthetic leg is designed to be lightweight, durable, and customizable for people with below-the-knee limb loss. It features a Velcro-secured socket that adjusts to fit different limb sizes, making it ideal for growing teens and adults. The central pylon can be lengthened or shortened to match the user’s height, and the ankle joint allows natural forward-backward movement for smoother walking. The foot is made from tough plastic with a soft inner wedge to absorb impact and improve comfort. All parts are printed with strong, sanitizable materials and can support users up to 200 pounds.
K&J GripHand
The K&J GripHand is a lightweight, wrist-powered prosthetic hand designed to help users grasp and release everyday objects. It uses elastic cords and strong strings to mimic finger motion when the wrist bends. The hand is fully 3D-printed and easy to adjust, making it great for growing kids and teens with below-elbow limb differences. Its open design keeps it cool and comfortable to wear for long periods.
